Sweet premise. Many happy memories of backyard hockey games in Evanston, IL, all through the 1950s and early 60s. (The same yard that hosted many summers of day-long Wiffle Ball games.) The way midwestern winters are today, memories may be all we have left of this wonderful, blood-stirring seasonal phenomenon. But, back in the ice ages, we were out on that rink every day from mid-December to March.
